This study advances literature on recruitment advertising of service organisations by focusing on an important advertising element, which are the illustrations/ visuals used in the execution of the print recruitment strategy. Against the backdrop of the rising significance of services and its potential of employment generation, the paper starts with identifying the need for service companies to select with precision and recruit the right personnel; further suggesting that the creation and content of recruitment advertisements could be useful in attracting the right kind of job applicants. The assertion is that companies need to comprehend recruitment advertisements as powerful as corporate and brand advertising, and therefore require the same attention in design, elegance, use of space and detail. With the help of content analysis, an effort is made to explore the visual component in the recruitment advertisements for service organisations. Additionally, the aim is also to analyse if the use of illustrations in recruitment advertisements varies across the different service types.
